We zagen b.v. prachtige rotsformaties. En omdat het bij het waterreservoir gelegen was, dachten Chiel en ik dat die rotsen door afgravingen zo gevormd waren. Niet dus!
Deze rotsen zijn:
Hexagonal columns
The twists and folds of the waterfall-like rock columns in the East Dam, Long Ke and Sai Wan areas are truly stunning, breathtaking sights. Don't forget to bring a camera so you can document this natural marvel. These hexagonal columns have existed for hundreds of millions of years. They were formed by the cooling and contraction of a mixture of lava, lithic tuff (volcanic rocks) and ash.
The twists and folds you see in the rock columns are evidence
of violent movement in the earth's crust.
